Here, you’ll find examples of how we can help you COMMUNICATE to the people that need to hear and understand you.
Below are examples of how our content is used to communicate to people our clients need to reach. Examples include:
- Agencies that need to provide public outreach
- Businesses that need to communicate concepts to their employees
- Cities or counties looking to show various facilities to their residents
- Educational institutions showing how their facilities are used
- Non-profit organizations that are in need show the public what they do
Area / City / Regional Tours
The goal of these types of videos is to show the public what there is to see or do in a particular area, such as a city, community, county, etc.
These types of videos are invaluable for showing the public what places of interest look like and where they are located by incorporating animated maps with vibrant imagery.
Documentation & Manuals
Written documentation still plays a key role in communicating to anyone. content-smith LLC has extensive experience in technical writing.
Along with written text, content-smith LLC is also very experienced at creating graphics and imagery that go along with what is being explained. That includes diagrams, pictures with callouts, and screen-shots of software screens. Diagrams and screenshots can come to life using animated GIFs. As the old saying goes, a picture is worth a thousand words.
Documentation can also be distributed via the web, such as through a Help System. See the our separate example of Help Systems.
Employee Training Video
Businesses often need to communicate important steps and new policies to employees. Such communication can easily be done using a short 5-10 minute long video.
Those videos can then be watched by employees on their phones or a large TV screen located in a common area. Emails and texts can easily be sent out to employees informing them of new videos to watch, with the video’s link embedded into the email/text.
City Park Tour
Cities and communities have a large collection of facilities, such as parks and community centers, available to residents. Many times, those residents don’t know what is available at these facilities or don’t know where they are located.
Facility tours can communicate what facilities are available to residents. They can easily see what features are available to them and where they can be found. Facility tours are a great communication tool for governing bodies to show their constituents how their tax dollars are being spent.
Aviation School Tour
Sometimes, it is difficult for schools and related educational institutions to show the public what is behind their walls. This video communicates how an aviation maintenance school uses a lot of equipment to teach their students.
This particular school, which is a satellite campus of a larger college, is located inside a large airport and difficult for students to find. That is the reason why this video communicates driving directions from the college to the aviation school.
Campus Tour
College and school campuses have a constant need to communicate what is special about their institute. What do they teach and focus on that other campuses don’t?
A virtual video tour is a great tool to show anyone what’s inside a school campus and what educational programs are offered to students. People from the outside world can watch such videos and easily be informed about the benefits of attending this campus over others.
Support Organizations
Organizations that stand for and support certain causes are always in need of communicating their mission, their purpose, and their goals to the public. Without communicating to the public, nobody would learn about these organizations that are so important to society and their mission might not get accomplished.
National and state parks are often supported by organizations that raise funds and recruit volunteers to help preserve a park and its assets when government funding may not be available. One such example is Gold Butte National Monument in Nevada. With it being new and its region covering being a remote area, funding was scarce. The support group Friends of Gold Butte was formed to promote and raise funds to further the preservation of this unique corner of the Mojave Desert.
Public Education
When there are sudden changes to the operation of something that is used or visited by the public, a communication process needs to be in place to easily inform the public of those changes. Videos make for a great way to communicate what those changes are to the public.
During the COVID pandemic of 2020, Zion National Park opened to visitors with certain restrictions. The park’s main attraction, Zion Canyon, can only be accessed by bus. During normal years, those buses were packed full of visitors. Because of “social distancing” practices, only so many people were allowed on a bus. The park setup a reservation system to limit the number passengers on a bus, which many people had difficulty using. Furthermore, visitors didn’t know what areas they could visit and which ones were closed.
This video shows an example of how new policy changes can be communicated to the public, as well as educate the public how to use a system.
Public Outreach
Any government agency (e.g., cities, counties, power utilities, water agencies, schools, etc.) have an assumed requirement of communicating to the public about so many topics. One topic might just cover what their entity does, its mission, its goal, etc. Videos are a great public outreach tool to accomplish this form of communication.
In this example, a unique and often misunderstood water agency in the Mojave Desert of California utilizes a video to explain how they were formed, what their mission consists of and the plans for their future projects.
Magazine Articles
Yes, we even write magazine articles. The articles we’ve written communicate and share our knowledge to readers looking for places to see and enjoy.
Our articles can be coupled with other content that we’ve already written. For instance, many of our blog posts have been used as articles in one or more magazines.
Brochures & Literature
People still like to pickup, hold, and read plain-old text on paper. Brochures and literature are one of the oldest forms of communication and content-smith LLC can provide a number of solutions for printed literature.
We’ve created a variety of literature for different applications, such as marketing literature, tour guides and quick reference guides. Several examples are available for you to browse through, possibly giving you new ideas of how to communicate to your customers or employees.
