There are many road trips or routes available for people that like to explore the countryside, plus there are many regional visitor centers or DMOs (destination management organizations) that have the job of promoting such road trips. content-smith LLC has mastered the process of creating what we call a Virtual Road Trip, which is a video that promotes and shows a prospective tourist where to find a road trip, turn-by-turn directions, and what to see along the way.
Victorville – Helendale Segment
The California Route 66 Museum in Victorville, California, needed a way to show museum visitors where and what to see along various stretches of the Mother Road. The Virtual Road Trip video below shows what to see along a stretch of Route 66 from Victorville to the town of Helendale.
Barstow – Ludlow Segment
San Bernardino County Travel & Tourism was also looking for a way to promote stretches of historic Route 66 through the towns of Daggett, Newberry Springs and the newly established Mojave Trails National Monument. content-smith LLC was hired to produce four videos, one of which is showcased below – Route 66 from Barstow to Ludlow.
Videos like this are a perfect tool that can be used to promote regional tourism by suggesting road trips, hikes, or places to visit such as points of interest, viewpoints, museums, etc. content-smith LLC has produced many videos using this style that people watch on YouTube or a website, giving them ideas of how to spend their free time.
Through our YouTube channel BackRoadsWest1, one Virtual Road Trip video has brought nearly one million viewers along on a tour of a related stretch of Route 66 through California’s Cajon Pass.
This content features:
- Animated maps show where to see things along the road trip
