Training staff, employees, or volunteers is always a tough job. The training must cover everything these people need to know. When training is done person to person, it’s more personable, but many topics and concepts can easily be forgotten, and the training isn’t consistent. Plus, if someone isn’t able to attend a training session, they miss out.

A training video will always cover the same concept consistently each time it’s watched. Plus, people can watch it over and over again, even those that missed out on any of the training.

This training video was created for the Arrowhead Gallery, a co-op art gallery in St. George, Utah. New gallery members, which are typically artists that are not familiar with sales techniques or familiar with interacting with the public, are volunteer sales staff. The gallery needed a consistent way of training these volunteers and making the training available at any time.

After interviewing key gallery staff on their training needs, content-smith LLC went to work developing a script that would deliver the message. A former director of the gallery was coached to be the narrator. This video is now available on the gallery’s website for any new and existing gallery members to watch and become familiar with working at “their” gallery.
