Collared Lizard
This handsome guy (or lovely gal) was posing nicely for me as we came upon it on a hike through the Petrified Forest National Park in Arizona. These lizards are very easy to spot with their bright, almost tropical-colored skin. They stand out against the natural coloring of the landscape and seem to be out of place. Most lizards blend in – not stand out. But they are different from other lizards in many ways.
