Titus Canyon Road Trip

Titus Canyon is another one of Death Valley's distinctive canyons and is one of the most popular "off-road" adventures in the Park.  Located in the Grapevine Mountains, the road through Titus Canyon was originally built in 1926 to service the mining town of Leadfield.  The story of Leadfield and its unscrupulous creator, Charles Julian, is one of the most scandalous and high-profile in Death Valley's history.  Thousands of people were cheated as Julian published outrageous advertisements and "salted" the tailings.
