Like Artists Palette to the south, Golden Canyon is a colorful and popular spot in Death Valley.  Its popularity is due to its easy access from Badwater Road, the striking golden-toned colors of the canyon and Manly Beacon which are in stark contrast to the deep, rusty-colored cliffs of Red Cathedral, lots of interesting geology, and it is one of the few attractions in the Park with its own, self-guided tour pamphlet available.  All of these great features, however, can make the canyon a bit crowded at times so, don't expect to have it all you yourself!
