Maps: Blue Ridge Tour
A supplement to the
Spring Valley Lake
Breeze
Here are two aqueduct maps to help you plan your trip and give you
an overall idea of the area:

The Area Map shows the route and various place names mentioned in
Road Trip.
Locate and click on the blue dots to see a picture looking in the
direction of the arrow. |

The Interactive Google Map points out the various places along the trip in more detail. If you have not used Google maps before, be sure to read the instructions below.

Map only works when your computer is connected to the Internet.

Position mouse pointer over red dot to see a pop-up
describing the location.

Click a red dot on the map to see a pop-up window
with a more detailed description and picture of that area.

Change the type of map (i.e. street map, satellite view, topo map) by clicking on the white-colored buttons located in the upper-right corner of the map.

Use the map controls located in the upper-left corner to scroll north/south/east/west or zoom in or out.

To "pan" the map, position your mouse cursor over the map (mouse cursor will turn into a "hand" symbol), then click and hold the mouse button down while moving your mouse in desired direction.

To "zoom" in and out of map, position mouse over desired area to zoom in/out of map and turn mouse wheel towards you to zoom out and opposite direction to zoom in.

After you click on the hyperlink to see the map below, you will
need to use the scrollbars on the bottom and right sides of the window to see
the entire map.
Each brown square on the map's grid represents one mile.
Base map data is from the United States Geological Survey (USGS)
provided by ArcGIS Explorer from ESRI. ArcGIS Explorer is available for
free download at
ESRI's website and provides a program similar to
Google Earth, but also
gives topographical and historical maps for the USA.
